And we think we pay a lot for a gallon of milk...

Some of you may know that Ethiopia have been suffering from severe drought and some areas are now in famine state (including the region Miriam is from). Mary of Owlhaven posted a blog post about Food prices in Ethiopia.  She reports "It (teff) used to be about $30 USD for 220 lbs. Now it is $110 for 220 lb.
Bananas are 50 cents US for 2.2 lbs. Lentils are $1.40 US for 2.2 lbs."  This is extremely bad when you realize that many Ethiopians are extremely lucky to make $2 a day!

Mary is also doing a fund raising drive right now for a feeding program.  If you can, consider helping out... even if it is just a few dollars.
