The 4th Anniversary of Joy
Four years ago today, a young woman walked up a flight of stairs in a large house half way around the world. A video camera was rolling, hearts were pounding, and in the distance there was the noise of babies fussing. At the top of those stairs was the portal to a whole new world. At the top of those stairs was the answer to prayers and tears and heart longing difficult to describe. At the top of those stairs, in the last room at the end of the hall a tiny 5 month old baby girl lay sleeping. Her caregivers woke her and placed her in my arms. She fussed for only a few seconds and then looked curiously at the strange people who were cooing over her and crying. Her life begin before me, but in many ways mine begin over that day. I walked up those stairs that morning just another woman, but I walked down them a mother.

That was just beautiful.
That was just beautiful. She is beautiful and the redeeming work of God is beautiful. I'm getting ready to travel to Ethiopia this spring to bring my son home and seeing these pictures is a testimony to God's faithfulness and His promises to His children to complete the good work He began. What a testimony your family is!
Beautiful!
I remember being wowed by her beautiful baby face and now I am wowed by her grown up 4 year old face. Beautiful girl, lucky mama! Way to start the family!
BTW, it was 3 years ago yesterday for us! :)
Love it
Gosh! It's been that long already. She is so grown, and just too beautiful for words!

I think I've been following your family's story since Miriam came home. It's been really fun to watch her grow and become a big sister twice over. Happy Family Day!
